Some content below is from email from Sustainable Schools Education Week announcement November 9, 2010
The Week was established last year by the K-12 and Teacher Education Sector of the U.S. Partnership to the United Nations Decade for Education for Sustainable Development. During this week, we are recognizing what sustainable primary and secondary schools are all about. It also is to look at how important it is to foster our primary, middle and high schools for sustainable education. Holistically, sustainable education includes the students, curriculum, operations, businesses and community. A school structure, from individual school to educational service district, operating on sustainable practices is a community resource. Please visit www.sustainableschools.org to gain a better perspective on what sustainable schools is all about.
